We’re Home
When Art and I watch home makeover shows, we especially enjoy the ones with young couples, just starting out in life, striving for the “American Dream”. We have been where they are – working toward a simple but comfortable retreat – a sanctuary where we can escape the daily pressures that are so prevalent in our world. This song is a song of gratitude – for where we’ve been and for where we have arrived – a place called home.

It’s Only Weather
At this point in my life, I am thinking less about the drama of my early life, when I was being pummeled by a storm of emotions resulting from my tumultuous love life. I have been extremely lucky, having found my true soul mate at the age of 36, and lo these many years later, I am still amazed at the miracle of my happy marriage.

It was the night of November 4, 2008. Art and I were watching the election returns. When the news announced that Barack Obama had been declared the winner of the presidential election, and this young Black man’s picture came up on our screen, we both got tears in our eyes – tears of happiness!

A dear friend of mine suffered at the hands of a jealous and abusive husband. As I watched the drama unfold, and recognized the feelings that it brought up for me – this song began to take shape in my mind.

I called on my 16 year-old self to write this song – With a whole lot of attitude, she really pinned down the unvarnished truth about “Boys” – In this song she wonders if they’re worth the trouble!

Hallelujah, Baruch and Amen
As I was approaching the holiday season in a few years ago, I had an idea – What if there was a holiday song that was more inclusive? My husband was raised Christian. I was raised Jewish. So, each year, I light a menorah and we put up a tree together. It is a seamless celebration of a season of light, love and joy.

The Price Of Love
Back in 1995 we were living in the Nashville area and an old friend, Rene Armand, asked me if we would like another kitty (our 3rd), we couldn’t resist. Born on July 4th 1995 he left us on Easter Sunday 2014, almost 19 years later. We love(d) all of our kitties but there was just something special about Henry. He is still in our hearts.
